D. Álvaro Cunqueiro, the most illustrious writer of Mondoñedo, used to say that Mondoñedo was rich in bread, water and Latin. And of course he was right, because this is a municipality with a great historical and cultural heritage, with a great natural wealth and where gastronomy also plays an important role.
