HISTORY

Almagro enters history during the 13th century thanks to the Military Order of Calatrava, which made our town the administrative capital of its extensive domains and the residence of the Masters.

In the XVI and XVII centuries, Almagro reached its maximum splendor, since rich families from all over Europe settled here, attracted by the fairs and the business that could be done from the goods of the Mesa Maestral that the emperor Carlos V had leased to the Fúcares. These families practiced patronage extensively and built splendid mansions with a palatial air.

Asphalted enclosure, delimited squares and night lighting. Garbage containers. Mercadona ~200 m, Repsol gas station ~800 m (gas bottles). A ~5 min walk from Plaza Mayor and Corral de Comedias. If busy (events/playground), use parking C. David Rayo. Nearest equipped areas (other municipalities): Torralba de Calatrava (~15 km), Aldea del Rey or Ciudad Real (parking Parque Gasset with emptying and water).

Access:
Public parking enabled for overnight stay, in front of the Convent of the Assumption / playground. Entrance to the village from CM-45. No awnings, tables or belongings (only overnight stay inside the vehicle).

Access:
Second municipal parking lot (next to Ermita de la Magdalena), south entrance to the village. Recommended by local police and tourist office if Ejido de Calatrava is full.
