ARCHITECTURE

San Martín de Trevejo, nestled in the Sierra de Gata. Nature and heritage.

San Martín de Trevejo is located between the Sierra de Gata and the Portuguese border, where the valley language called "a fala" or "mañegu" is currently spoken by only about 6,000 people in the area.

The past of this place is reflected in its rich historical heritage, which highlights the main square, the bell tower, the house of the Encomienda or the Church of San Martin de Tours, a building with three naves and that keeps three tables of the painter Luis de Morales "El Divino" from the sixteenth century. Its traditional three-storey half-timbered houses take the visitor back to another era
