Parauta, the essence of Andalusia in every street.
The town of Parauta is from the Muslim period, of which it maintains in its Plumilla de Parautaurbanismo the most important features and its history goes hand in hand with that of Ronda and other towns that are located in the southern part of the Serrania. In the ancient Hisn Autha, in a nearby farmhouse called Torrichela, it is believed that Omar Ben Hafsun was born around the year 854, head of the rebellion of the Muladis that was generalized in almost all Andalusia and whose kingdom, independent of the Caliphate of Cordoba, lasted until his death.
