Laguardia, in the south of the province of Alava, occupies a privileged place in the Rioja Alavesa. Its location in the central part of the region, dominating the valley, responds to the warrior spirit of its founder and the defensive mission it had against the kingdom of Navarre. The population center is located on a whimsical hill that simulates the hull of a ship sailing north.
