HISTORY
Almagro enters history during the 13th century thanks to the Military Order of Calatrava, which made our town the administrative capital of its extensive domains and the residence of the Masters.
In the XVI and XVII centuries, Almagro reached its maximum splendor, since rich families from all over Europe settled here, attracted by the fairs and the business that could be done from the goods of the Mesa Maestral that the emperor Carlos V had leased to the Fúcares. These families practiced patronage extensively and built splendid mansions with a palatial air.
