Our municipality is known for its rich winemaking tradition. For centuries, native grape varieties such as Merseguera and Bobal have been cultivated here. Today, the Baldovar 923 Winery operates here; in 2016, it revived the former San Roque cooperative in the same village.
Wine-growing context: DO Valencia
Alpuente and the hamlets of Baldovar belong to the DO Valencia, specifically to the Alto Turia subzone. Its geographic area corresponds to the northwesternmost part of the province of Valencia. It has an inland climate, with harsh winters and dry summers, creating extreme conditions for the vineyards. As this is a mountainous region, high-altitude wines with great character are produced here.
Grape Varieties
The dominant white variety is Merseguera, typical of the Alto Turia, while Bobal dominates among the reds.
Organic Winemaking
At Bodega de Baldovar 923, respect for the land is the primary goal; that is why they practice organic viticulture, following nature’s cycles and committing to minimal intervention.
A Must-See
In addition to producing wines with their own distinct character, the winery offers tours with tastings. Come enjoy a unique experience in a spectacular setting!
