Roncal, the essence of Navarra in every street.

The beautiful village of El Roncal is the capital of the valley that bears his name and where Julián Gayarre (1844-1890), the great tenor from Navarre who triumphed in all the great operas, rests in a beautiful mausoleum designed by the sculptor Benlliure.

The town of Roncal (Erronkari, in Basque), sits on both sides of the Esca River, in the Navarrese Pyrenees and through its cobbled streets, distributed in a Y-shape, the visitor descends from the parish church, accompanied by several stately buildings, such as the Sanz House, the Gambra House or the Lopez House.
