Sant Quirc de Durro Chapel
Iglesia / ErmitaThe Hermitage of Sant Quirc de Durro is a Romanesque hermitage located in the mountain of Durro, in the municipality of Durro, municipality of La Vall de Boí, in the region of Alta Ribagorça, Lleida, Catalonia. Its location, at an altitude of about 1,500 meters above sea level and over the valley, makes it a very prominent landmark of the Pyrenean rural environment. It is a building of medieval origin, built in the 12th century. The sources consulted indicate that it was renovated in later times, incorporating Baroque contributions, although it maintains the Romanesque essence of its construction. Its typology is that of a small mountain church or hermitage, historically linked to the landscape and community traditions of Durro. Among its most important heritage elements are the small nave, the single apse and the two-eyed belfry, typical of the local Romanesque style. Inside, the coexistence of pieces and references from different artistic periods is documented, with the presence of a Romanesque altar frontal, a Gothic image of Sant Quirc and Santa Julita, and a Baroque altarpiece. The hermitage is part of the group of Romanesque churches of the Boí Valley, inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2000. It has also been listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1992, which confirms its historical, artistic and territorial relevance within the Catalan heritage.

Viewpoint of Sant Quirc Chapel
MIRADORThe mirador de l'ermita de Sant Quirc is located on the hill where the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Quirc de Durro stands, at an altitude of 1,500 m, overlooking the Boí valley and the hamlet of Durro. The point combines landscape and heritage value: the small church, of medieval origin and with subsequent restorations, functions as a natural balcony over a very open mountain environment. From here there is a wide panoramic view of the Vall de Boí, with terraced slopes, mid-mountain meadows and, on clear days, peaks of the Pyrenean environment. The interest of the place lies precisely in that relationship between rural architecture, elevated location and overall view of the valley, one of the most recognizable landscapes of the Alta Ribagorça. The place is located in the middle of the valley. The hermitage is listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest and is part of the Romanesque ensemble of the Vall de Boí, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Therefore, the viewpoint is not only a panoramic viewpoint, but also a gateway to one of the most significant cultural landscapes of the Catalan Pyrenees. The viewpoint is also a gateway to one of the most significant cultural landscapes of the Catalan Pyrenees.[11 The visit is especially recommended in early morning or late afternoon light, when the relief is better marked and the valley gains visual depth. In spring and summer the environment is more accessible and clear; in autumn, the palette of colors of the valley adds photographic interest.

RUTA_CORTAShort hiking route in the surroundings of Durro, in the Vall de Boí, linking the village with the uninhabited village of Saraís and the Pont de Saraís. The route starts next to the church of the Nativitat de Durro and runs along the slopes and terraces of the valley, with a traditional route of communication between mountain villages. The available information places it in a mid-mountain Pyrenean landscape, above 1,000 meters of altitude, in the Alta Ribagorza area, Lleida. The route is of interest for its landscape and ethnographic value: it crosses meadows, terraced fields and stretches accompanied by dry stone walls, very characteristic elements of the rural Pyrenean landscape. In the final stretch you reach Saraís, an abandoned village where ruins are still visible, including those of the Romanesque church of Sant Llorenç, which adds a heritage component to the walk. The Pont de Saraís acts as the final milestone of the route and as a reference of the old valley road. Because of its approach, it is a short outing, of interest to visitors seeking to combine nature, local history and popular architecture in a quiet mountain setting. Its inclusion in the offer of experiences of the Vall de Boí reinforces its value as an interpretive walk rather than as a great sporting itinerary.
