The town of Ayllón is located in the extreme northeast of the province of Segovia, settled on the slopes of a reddish hill and bordering the province of Soria.
To the east is the Sierra to which it gives its name, the Sierra de Ayllón, crowned by the peak of Grado (1,613 m.) next to which passes the road that connects this town with the province of Guadalajara.
Ayllón has been declared a National Historic-Artistic Site by Decree 1,201/73, of May 19, and has won several awards, including first prize in 1973 in the Town Beautification Contest and runner-up in the National First Prize in 1974.
