POI

located three kilometers from the town, on a small mound next to the river on the road that goes to Recueja, already existed in 1579, it is also known that it suffered a collapse being restored in 1742, recovering the dome and the tower. As for the paintings, there is an inscription that places its completion in 1805, the rest of the decoration reflects a clear neoclassical style. In 1993, due to the bad state of deterioration of the altarpiece, the stonemasonry workshop of the School Workshop II restored it, making the whole altarpiece with natural stone from Alcalá, carved and placed by hand, piece by piece. In 1994 the Brotherhood of San Lorenzo began the process of painting the hermitage and finally it was decided to completely restore the paintings, being Juan Manuel Pérez González the one who began the process of recovery, directed by the restorer Momo Makino, ending in 1999.
