Las Pasarelas del Río Vero Trail

The Ruta de las Pasarelas del Río Vero is a tourist resource of circular hiking in Alquézar (Huesca), located in the last section of the canyon of the Vero River, in the surroundings of the town and the Natural Park of the Sierra and Canyons of Guara. The route starts in the town center of Alquézar, next to the Plaza Mayor or the Town Hall, and runs along a signposted route that allows you to get to know one of the most characteristic landscapes of the Somontano Altoaragonés. It is a hiking and mountain route, with footbridges installed over the ravine and sections of equipped path. The sources consulted describe a route of about 3 km, with an approximate duration of 2 hours and a moderate slope, suitable for visitors with a basic physical condition. Access is regulated by schedules and entrance control, due to the intensive tourist use of the itinerary. From the landscape point of view, the main interest lies in the combination of rock, water and riverside vegetation, in addition to the views over the Vero canyon and the town of Alquézar itself. The route allows us to appreciate the historical relationship between the settlement of the town and its fluvial environment, as well as the adaptation of the path to a natural environment of strong relief. It is not a monument or a heritage building, but a tourist-naturalistic itinerary linked to the dissemination of the landscape and the territorial heritage of Alquézar.
