Los Pinsapos Garden · Zahara
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
The Spanish fir (Abies pinsapo) is a unique tree, a relict from the Quaternary, which forms endangered Mediterranean fir forests. Zahara de la Sierra is the only municipality with a Spanish fir forest within its urban core. This small forest recreates, with scientific rigor, an ecosystem similar to that of the Sierra del Pinar, near the town. Next to the pinsapo, grow native species such as the gall oak (Quercus faginea subsp. alpestris), the holm oak (Quercus rotundifolia) and the strawberry tree, forming a valuable botanical space of great ecological and scenic interest.
