Hermitage of La Magdalena · Viniegra de Arriba

The Ermita de la Magdalena, located in Viniegra de Arriba, was built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the 15th and 17th centuries. With a Romanesque floor plan and elevation, its sober semicircular arch doorway and an exterior structure with Gothic influences stand out. Its reddish stone, characteristic of the area, reinforces its harmony with the natural surroundings. Despite the passage of time, this temple retains its primitive essence and stands as an example of the rural religious architecture of La Rioja, full of history and spirituality.
