Roman Bridge in Villanueva de los Infantes · Villanueva de los Infantes
POI
The Roman Bridge over the Jabalón River, located next to the Shrine of Our Lady of La Antigua, is one of the most unique historical landmarks in the area around Villanueva de los Infantes. Spanning the Jabalón River, this sturdy bridge with three semicircular arches stands out for its sandstone construction, its semicircular buttresses, and the coat of arms of Pedro I “El Justiciero” that it still bears. Its proximity to the ancient settlement of Jámila—considered by some historians to be the origin of the town—makes this site a must-see for anyone wishing to discover the region’s past.
