San Miquel d'Espinalbar Hermitage · Valderrobres

The first information about this hermitage dates back to 1324. Located in the Espinalbar mountain range - a name derived from the hawthorn tree - it was rebuilt between 1610 and 1612 after a fire. The original images were destroyed in the Civil War, but one of San Miquel was donated in the 1940s. Next to it, two ruined farmhouses recall times of pilgrimages, processions and neighborhood meetings. The roof collapsed in 1988. In May, bunches of hawthorn and holly were blessed, and the whole village participated in a day of faith, food, games and coexistence.
