La Cesta Viewpoint · Tejeda

Located at kilometer 3 of the GC-60 road, over the Barranco de Tejeda bridge, this viewpoint is one of the most photographed places in the municipality. The sculpture, the work of the Portuguese artist Rita Loureiro da Silva and made during the I International Symposium of Plastic Arts in 2010, pays tribute to the effort of the families who collected almonds in a complex orography. The basket symbolizes the hard work and the local agricultural tradition. In the background, the majestic Roque Bentayga, natural emblem of Tejeda and all of Gran Canaria, rises majestically.
