The urban center of Sos del Rey Católico preserves a medieval network of cobblestone streets, with the Jewish quarter or Barrio Alto, the Plaza de la Villa, the old fish market and noble Gothic and Renaissance mansions. These houses, made of ashlar stone, have wooden eaves, heraldic coats of arms and architectural details that evoke centuries of history. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1968, the town offers a walk through time, in which every corner reveals the elegance and legacy of a key frontier town in the history of Aragon and the Hispanic monarchy.
