Valdivieso Palace (now Hotel Altamira) · Santillana del Mar
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
The Valdivieso Palace, also called Valdivielso, stands at the confluence of Canton Street and Callejón de las Lindas, in the heart of Santillana del Mar. Built in the first half of the 18th century, it is already mentioned in the Cadastre of the Marquis de la Ensenada (1753) as Casa de Valdivielso, with its coat of arms on one corner. With a square floor plan and two floors, it has an ashlar stone façade, a central doorway flanked by pilasters and four stone balconies with iron railings. Today, rehabilitated, it houses the Hotel Altamira, where history, architecture and hospitality are combined.
