Peredo Barreda Palace · Santillana del Mar
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
The Peredo Barreda Palace, also known as "Palacio de los Benemejís", is one of the most elegant buildings in Santillana del Mar. It was built in the early eighteenth century by Francisco Miguel de Peredo, Indian and knight of the Order of Calatrava, on an old Gothic tower of the Barreda family. The complex is formed by the palace, the annexed houses and a splendid garden that enhances its majesty. After passing into the hands of the descendants of the Marquise of Benemejís, it was acquired and restored by Caja Cantabria. Today it houses a cultural center with a library, decorative arts and a stable exhibition program.
