The Casona de los Sánchez Tagle, located in Campo del Revolgo, is the origin of the lineage of Pedro Sánchez de Tagle, considered by some to be the "father of tequila" for having promoted the first large distillery in Tequila, Jalisco, in the 17th century. Although he did not invent the drink, he was a pioneer in its large-scale production under the name of "mezcal wine". The mansion, built at the end of the 17th century by his brothers Andrés, Luis, Anselmo and Pedro, stands out for its balcony over a monumental heraldic coat of arms. Inside it preserves a valuable archive and art collection, a reflection of its stately legacy.
