POI
The Monastery of Our Lady of Espino is one of the most iconic landmarks in Santa Gadea del Cid. Its origins are linked to the tradition that recounts the Virgin’s apparition to two shepherds in 1399, leading to the construction of a chapel that, in the 15th century, became a Benedictine monastery. It stands out for its elegant Gothic-style church, its cloister with pointed arches, and the image of Our Lady of the Thorn, making it a site of great historical, artistic, and spiritual value.
