From the Plaza Mayor continues the street known as "La Plaza", where more than 25 houses are still preserved with carved stumps in the shape of faces, possibly with the intention of scaring away evil spirits. In it stands out the stately home of Los Ageros, with granite friezes and balconies. The Portuguese researcher J. Leite de Vasconcellos stayed in this residence during his study of the Fala between 1925 and 1935. In nearby streets, such as San Juan, typical Mañegas houses are preserved, with cellar, dwelling and attic, built with traditional elements such as cantareiras or trancas.
