Vicente Pascual Esteban was born in Rubielos de Mora in 1768. He studied Canon Law in Zaragoza and was ordained a priest in 1794. A canon in Teruel, he stood out for his political role during the War of Independence. He was elected deputy to the Cortes and presided over the sessions on March 19, 1812, the day of the approval of the Constitution of Cadiz, "La Pepa", leaving his signature on the original text. After resigning his seat in 1814, he returned to Teruel, where he died in 1815. His birthplace is still preserved in the street that bears his name.
