Historic District · Robledillo de Gata

The Historical Complex of Robledillo de Gata, in the region of Sierra de Gata, is a jewel of the popular architecture of Cáceres. Its houses, made of adobe or masonry with slate slabs and timber framing, preserve the essence of traditional life. Narrow streets, balconies, passageways and dryers give the village a unique character. The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, from the 16th century, with its Mudejar coffered ceiling, stands out. Three hermitages complete its religious heritage. This village, declared a Historic Site, allows the visitor to walk between living history and rural authenticity.
