Camino de los Molinos and Ruins of the San Bernardino Monastery

This route that begins in the Lavaderos of the town, will take us into one of the most popular neighborhoods of the town "Los Corrales" and will allow us to contemplate the remains of his hermitage (San Blas). the Franciscan friars of the old monastery of San Blas). In addition, we will pass by one of the most unknown points of Poza, its mills and the old light factory known by the nickname of "Porvenir de Poza". If we continue our route, we will approach the domains of the Franciscan monastery of San Bernardino de Siena.

LAUNDRIES OF POZA DE LA SAL

The route will begin in one of the most emblematic places of the town, the 19th century washhouses of spring waters that flow into the river La Torca and the remains of the Roman aqueduct, which transported these waters to the city of Flavia Augusta.

RUINS OF THE HERMITAGE OF SAN BLAS

After our walk through the neighborhood of Los Corrales, where the sheep and mules of Poza were stored, we came across the ruins of the old chapel dedicated to San Blas, and where the famous Poza festival of Escarrete was held.

THE ORIGIN OF POZA AND ITS MILLS

After a beautiful walk through the Pinar de Poza, we came across the water course that leads us to what were the Molinos de Poza and where the light factory known as the Porvenir de Poza was located. Nowadays the area has been restored to reveal the structure of the buildings that made up the mills and the houses of the families in charge of their operation.

RUINS OF THE MONASTERY OF SAN BERNARDINO OF SIENA

Within the grounds of a private estate are the remains of the old Franciscan monastery that was sponsored by the Marquises of Poza de la Sal de San Bernardino de Siena. In spite of its deterioration, the imposing figure of its walls and the arches that sheltered the monastic cloister can still be appreciated from a distance.

PINE FOREST OF POZA ON THE ROAD TO PADRONES DE BUREBA

Bordering with the term of Padrones de Bureba, the road will return us to the salt village of Poza, through a lush set of pine forests and which we can enjoy its beauty and fauna it contains.
