Church of Santa Maria de Portor · Ponte Maceira
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
Portor, the easternmost parish of the municipality, houses one of the most remarkable Romanesque treasures of the region of A Barcala: the Church of Santa María de Portor. This former Benedictine priory, linked to San Martiño Pinario of Santiago de Compostela, stands out for its excellent state of preservation. Its façade and tower date from the 17th century, while the temple has a nave divided into four sections, with semi-columns, prismatic buttresses, historiated capitals, blind arches, a lateral portal and a singular acroteria in the apse.
