Manuel Pacheco Literary Trail
Olivenza · Badajoz · Extremadura
Manuel Pacheco Conejo (Olivenza, December 19, 1920 – Badajoz, March 13, 1998), better known simply as Pacheco, was a Spanish poet, prose writer, and playwright who was entirely self-taught and belongs, both chronologically and stylistically, to the so-called “Generation of ’50.” Along with Jesús Delgado Valhondo and Luis Álvarez Lencero, he was part of a small group of writers from Extremadura whose primary goal was to integrate mid-20th-century regional poetry—represented almost exclusively by Gabriel y Galán and Luis Chamizo—into the literary avant-garde of the time. Immerse yourself in some of his poems as you stroll through the streets of Olivenza.
