Municipal Natural Site of Pereroles
PARAJEThe Municipal Natural Park of Pereroles is a protected forest area in the municipality of Morella, in the region of Els Ports, declared in 2010 and with an area of 360.67 hectares. It is located on the slopes of the Serra de Sant Marc, within the Northwestern Iberian System, between 970 and 1,250 meters above sea level, with the highest elevations in the southern and northeastern sectors of the site. It is part of the Natura 2000 Network as it is included in the ZEPA La Tinença de Benifassà-Turmell and in the LIC Tinença de Benifassà, Turmell i Vallivana. What dominates is an inland Mediterranean mountain landscape, with wooded masses and gentle to moderate relief, especially noticeable for the continuity of the woodland and the feeling of isolation from the town of Morella, from which it is about 12 kilometers away. The sources cite laricio pine forests and other associated forest formations, in an environment of high landscape quality. Its natural interest is not limited to the vegetation: the site has hydrological and ecological values that justified its protection. Pereroles is interesting for its combination of nature, public use and conservation. It is a very popular place for recreation and overnight stays, with equipped shelters, forest house and camping areas, as well as a network of trails that links it with nearby towns such as Herbés, Herbeset, La Pobleta and Xiva. This accessibility and its mountain environment make it a local reference for excursions, group stays and observation of the mountain scenery. Its relevance lies in the fact that it is one of the municipal natural areas protected by the Generalitat Valenciana in Morella and that it functions as a piece of ecological connection within an area of high environmental value. The official documentation also emphasizes its role as an enclave of protection, recreational use and conservation of the public forest.

All the monuments and museums of Morella
MonumentoMorella is a monumental and tourist complex of historical character located in Morella, Castellón, in the region of Els Ports, with a location of great strategic value on an elevation dominated by the castle and surrounded by medieval walls. The municipality is recognized as a Historic-Artistic Site and its urban image is articulated around the walled enclosure, with towers and gates that preserve the defensive physiognomy of the town. Among the most outstanding monuments is the castle of Morella, a fortress of medieval origin that presides over the town and explains its military and frontier function for centuries. Also outstanding are the walls, of continuous layout and with towers and access gates, as well as the convent of San Francisco, a set of the thirteenth-fourteenth centuries linked to the Franciscan order and now converted into a tourist-cultural space. The historic center also preserves religious and civil buildings of great patrimonial interest, integrated into the traditional urban fabric. As for museums, Morella has several exhibition spaces of reference, including the Temps de Dinosaures museum, the Sexenni museum and the archpriestly museum, which complement the heritage visit with contents of paleontology, traditional festivals and sacred art. This set reinforces the cultural value of the town beyond its monuments, offering a broad reading of its history, its religiosity and its popular celebrations. A short distance from the town center are also the cave paintings of Morella la Vella, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO within the rock art of the Mediterranean arc, with prehistoric chronology between 9,000 and 5,000 years old. Although they are not an urban monument, they are an essential part of the visitable heritage of the municipality and complete the profile of Morella as a heritage destination of the first order.
