Church of Our Lady of the Assumption · Mogrovejo

The Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción stands in the heart of the historic center of Mogrovejo. Built in the 17th century, it has a single rectangular nave and a sober exterior that contrasts with the richness of its interior. Its baroque main altarpiece stands out, adorned with the coats of arms of the Mogrovejo family, as well as two valuable carvings: a Flemish image of the Virgin known as La Milagrosa (15th century) and one of Santo Toribio (18th century). Access to the temple is restricted to mass hours, thus preserving its spiritual character.
