MULTIEXPERIENCIA

The castle-palace of San Juan is emblematic of Mirambel's medieval legacy. After its conquest in 1169 by Alfonso II, it passed through the orders of the Holy Redeemer, the Temple and the Hospital, under which it remained until the 19th century. During the Carlist wars, it was the logistical base of Cabrera and the headquarters of the Supreme Board of Aragon, Valencia and Murcia. Although it was demolished during that period, the remains of ashlar walls, arches and staircases still stand next to the church. Recently, its ruins have been consolidated and the original crenellated walls have been restored.
