POI

Mirambel Castle was a medieval fortress built by the Knights Templar in the 13th century to protect this strategic border town on the frontier with the former Muslim kingdom of Valencia. Over the course of its history, it passed into the hands of the Order of St. John and was gradually transformed into a residence. It sustained significant damage during the Carlist Wars and was eventually demolished in the 1950s. Today, the preserved ruins allow visitors to imagine the defensive importance of this site, which is part of one of the best-preserved historic complexes in Aragon.
