Peñacalva Lookout · Linares de Mora

The Peñacalva Lookout is one of the great natural viewpoints in the area around Linares de Mora. Located at an altitude of about 1,630 meters, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Sierra de Gúdar-Javalambre and the mountainous landscapes surrounding the town. Access is via the road connecting Nogueruelas and Linares de Mora, from where a hiking trail of approximately 4.6 kilometers begins. The trail winds through a landscape of mountains and pine forests, and although the final stretch features a steep climb, the effort is well worth it once you reach this spectacular viewpoint. From the top, you can see Sarrión, Rubielos de Mora, Barracas, and the Sierra de Javalambre; on clear days, you can even make out the Javalambre Astrophysical Observatory, located on Pico del Buitre. In winter, the snow-capped peaks of Javalambre offer a particularly spectacular view. It is an ideal place to hike, breathe fresh air, enjoy nature, and take in the mountain scenery, as well as a magnificent spot for photography and for discovering the vastness of the Teruel region.
