MULTIEXPERIENCIA

Genalguacil, in the heart of the Serrania de Ronda, has its roots in ancient times, when Phoenicians and Greeks exploited gold, silver and copper mines in the Cueva de Baque. Its name suggests a possible settlement of some ancient ruler. In Moorish times, the area was the scene of the uprising in which Don Alonso de Aguilar died. After the expulsion, it was repopulated by Christians and belonged to the Duke of Arcos. Today, Genalguacil stands out for its layout of Arab origin, whitewashed houses and an almost untouched nature, with one of the most important pine forests in the region, among peaks such as Los Reales and Benestepar.
