Watchtower · Culla
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
Military orders, such as the Templars, used castles and a network of watchtowers to control their territory. This tower, located near the hermitage of San Cristóbal, fulfilled this strategic function and, in addition, faces the Penyagolosa, the sacred mountain of the region. The name Penyagolosa comes from the Latin evolution of pinna (mountain) and lucosa (wooded), as recorded in the document of donation of Culla to the Order of the Temple in 1213.
