Molí de l'Orde · Culla

MULTIEXPERIENCIA

This mill was built in the 14th century, during the rule of the Order of Montesa, successor of the Order of the Temple. In the Middle Ages, mills, furnaces and forges were monopolies of the feudal lords: only they could build and operate them. The neighbors were obliged to use them and, in the case of the mills, they had to pay for their use with a part of the ground grain, known as maquila. The Molí de l'Ordre is a living testimony of this feudal period and its structure preserves vestiges of the feudal power.
