MULTIEXPERIENCIA

The first inhabitants of Cudillero were fishermen who, fleeing from the Normans, took refuge in the "elbow" shape of the village, a small natural inlet. From this peculiar "elbow" derives the name of Cudillero. Initially, the settlement was provisional, but over time it became definitive due to the abundance of fish in its waters. This close relationship with the sea and fishing has so marked its inhabitants that today they are known as "pixuetos", a term derived from the Latin piscis, meaning fish.
