Parish Church of Santa María Magdalena · Castrillo de los Polvazares

MULTIEXPERIENCIA

The Church of Santa María Magdalena stands in the picturesque Plaza Concha Espina in Castrillo de los Polvazares, in the municipality of Astorga, León. This place was immortalized by the Cantabrian writer Concha Espina in her novel La esfinge maragata (1914), inspired by local life. The temple stands out for its sober traditional architecture and its imposing belfry with double bell tower, which crowns the silhouette of the village. It is part of the historical complex protected by Law 16/1985 of Spanish Historical Heritage.
