Capileira, one of the most emblematic villages of the Alpujarra Granadina, stands out for its history, tradition and privileged location as the southern entrance to the Sierra Nevada National Park. Together with Bubión and Pampaneira, it is part of the Historic-Artistic Site of the Barranco del Poqueira. It is the highest of the three, with almost 1,500 meters of altitude, offering breathtaking views. Its urban center, divided into lower, middle and upper neighborhoods, preserves the Alpujarra architecture, with white houses, streets of Arabic layout and fountains that spring from the Sierra Nevada.
