Subway Funicular · Bulnes

The Bulnes Funicular, inaugurated in 2001, is a unique engineering work that connects in only 7 minutes the village of Bulnes with Poncebos, in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. Built in a subway tunnel of 2,227 meters, it crosses a drop of 402 meters with a slope of 18.9%. Before, it was only accessible on foot through the Canal del Texu. Today it facilitates access without altering the natural environment, promoting sustainable tourism and improving local life, without replacing the traditional hiking route that many still prefer to walk.
