Church of Santa María de Arties · Arties
MULTIEXPERIENCIA
The Church of Santa Maria de Arties, built in the 12th century, is one of the most remarkable examples of Aranese Romanesque architecture. It stands out for its slender square tower bell tower and the Gothic mural paintings that decorate its interior, witnesses of the fervor and history of the region. It is said that in its interior are preserved legends of pilgrims and medieval stories that envelop the temple in a halo of mystery. Its architecture and history make it an unmistakable symbol of the village of Arties and a jewel of the cultural heritage of the Val d'Aran.
