San Pedro Church (XVI century) · Ansó

MULTIEXPERIENCIA

The church of San Pedro de Ansó, erected in the second half of the 16th century, stands out for its imposing volume and its careful architecture. Its Latin cross plan with a single nave and polygonal chancel is completed with an elevated choir and a rectangular tower. Its access is presided over by a Gothic doorway protected by a vaulted portegado with star-shaped ribbed vaulting. Inside, the Baroque main altarpiece with St. Peter on a chair and other Romanesque altarpieces stand out, together with a remarkable system of vaults that give the temple a majestic verticality.
