Views from the Tower, San Agustin Church · Almagro

MULTIEXPERIENCIA

The church of San Agustín, from the 18th century, is one of the most outstanding examples of Baroque architecture in Ciudad Real. Its single nave, presided over by an imposing dome, creates a visual axis that culminates in the presbytery, where a typical Hispanic Baroque dressing room opens. Its pictorial decoration moves the visitor with an iconographic cycle full of symbols: hearts with arrows, bundles of wheat, grapes, suns and moons, in clear allusion to the title of the convent. These elements enclose a deep religious meaning that is revealed when entering the temple. From its tower you can enjoy beautiful views of the Plaza Mayor and its surroundings. A visual gift that deserves to be part of the itinerary.
