El Pescante and El Transportador · Agulo

El Pescante and El Transportador were key works for trade in Agulo. El Pescante, a 56-meter wooden and metal footbridge inaugurated in 1908, allowed products such as bananas and tomatoes to be shipped without the need for a port. It operated until 1954, when a storm destroyed it. In 1926, El Transportador was built: a system of turrets and metal cables that moved goods from San Marcos to El Pescante, crossing almost three kilometers. Today, its remains evoke the ingenuity of an era that knew how to adapt to the geography with ingenious solutions.
