It emphasizes the procession of the Bandeiras, which leaves Holy Thursday from the Santa Casa de Misericordia, in which no step is venerated but ten canvases, which in turn group two pictures each, also called flags, painted in the early eighteenth century. The paintings are made in oil on canvas. They represent the Way of the Cross, and on the back they show angels holding different moments of the Passion, with the exception of two that show the Virgin of Mercy, who shelters under her mantle all the Portuguese people, among whom the figure of Fra' Miguel de Contreras is recognized. This procession is one of the most characteristic of Olivenza. The Flags are carried by brothers with black hopas that at dusk of Holy Thursday go visiting the different Monuments, name that receives the Holy Sacrament of the city. The procession closes with a beautiful carved Christ, one of the best examples of crucifixes from the first half of the 19th century and one of the best carvings preserved in Olivenza. It was carved in 1818 by the Portuguese royal sculptor Joaquim José de Barros.
