With the Mass that takes place in the evening, the Church begins the Paschal Triduum and evokes that last supper in which the Lord Jesus, having loved his own to the end, offered to God the Father his Body and Blood under the spices of bread and wine, and gave them to his Apostles to be immersed, commanding them and their successors in the priesthood to offer them as well.

The proper meaning of this prayer is to accompany Christ in his last hours. We remember those moments spent on this night, to unite ourselves to the Lord who carries our sin on his shoulders and goes resolutely to give his life for us.

In the middle of Maundy Thursday night, from the Collegiate Church, begins the "Procession of Silence and Penance", in which the procession of the "Naked Cross" and the "Virgin of Mercy". We walk with rigorous silence and with lighted candles the streets that go up to the castle, where we make the exercise of the "Sexto Dolor" and then return to the Collegiate Church of San Miguel.
