STEPS AND WAY OF CARRYING THEM: Image of Jesus Rescatado on wooden throne to varal by 46 bearers/as and image of St. Mary Magdalene on silver step carried on wheels. CLOTHING: Purple velvet tunic and hood. Knotted at the waist golden cincture with the medal of the brotherhood. White gloves with embroidered Trinitarian cross. Hung to the chest and back, scapulars with the S and the nail on the back and on the chest the Trinitarian cross. Black shoes. MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT: Compañía Romana de Almagro with Jesús Rescatado and Agrupación Musical Santo Sepulcro de Valenzuela de Cva. with Santa María Magdalena. WE RECOMMEND: Departure from the church of San Blas, Plaza Mayor (Town Hall) and entrance to the hermitage of La Magdalena.

Plaza Mayor

The Compañía Romana, better known as "los Armaos", is the most characteristic brotherhood of Almagro's Holy Week, with their armor, helmets with red or white dusters and ensigns. More than 200 "armaos" burst every Holy Thursday, Friday and Saturday into Almagro's Plaza Mayor to perform the traditional "caracol". The longest one takes place on the last day, but any of them arouses the same expectation. Without a specific timetable, the Holy Saturday snail takes place between 15:30 and 16:00 h. The "armaos" parade into the square to the sound of drums and bugles and, after lining up one by one, they begin to turn around their leaders forming a large circle that turns into a spiral, hence the name "caracol" (snail). The spirals are unraveling and forming again, producing a surprising plastic and aesthetic effect. These celebrations represent one of the most genuine signs of identity of the almagreño feeling.

STEPS AND HOW TO CARRY THEM: Ntra. Sra. de la Soledad a costal, by means of a group of 50 brothers - costaleros. CLOTHING: Black tunic with pearly buttons, scapular and hood with calatrava shield. Black shoes with buckles and white socks. Women dressed in black wearing the traditional almagreña lace mantilla. MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT: Almagro Music Band. WE RECOMMEND: Departure, Bernardas Street, Plaza Mayor and entrance to the house of the Brotherhood.
