This traditional complex, connected to the fountain that supplies it, preserves the memory of generations of residents—and especially of the women who came here to wash their clothes, turning this daily chore into a time for gathering, conversation, and fellowship.
A complex with roots in the 18th century. The fountain located inside the washhouse is dated 1713, according to its inscription, allowing us to travel back to the early 18th century and discover the historical importance of these structures for local life. Although the exact date of the washhouse’s construction is unknown, its connection to this centuries-old fountain makes it a valuable testament to the hydraulic heritage of Linares de Mora.
Its basins, the stone, and the water evoke those days of hard work, while the surroundings preserve the essence of traditional Aragonese architecture. A simple place, yet one steeped in meaning, that reminds us how even the most everyday spaces are part of the history and identity of our towns.
