Majestic and visible from anywhere in the town, this 18th-century church dominates the urban landscape with its imposing silhouette. Its spaciousness, Baroque elegance, and valuable Rococo paintings make the church one of the region’s heritage gems. Upon entering, visitors discover a space filled with light, art, and history that reflects the importance and splendor Linares de Mora attained over the centuries.
Built between 1785 and 1795 according to plans attributed to the architect Martín de Aldehuela, it stands as one of the most outstanding examples of Teruel Baroque architecture. Its exterior, constructed primarily of masonry and ashlar, features a sober and balanced composition, while the interior surprises with the richness of its spaces.
The church features three naves, a transept, and a dome, as well as a main chapel highlighted by a magnificent baldachin that shelters the image of the Immaculate Conception. The vaults and walls are decorated with murals, stucco work, and ornamental motifs in pastel tones, creating a luminous and exceptionally beautiful interior.
One of its most distinctive features is its freestanding bell tower, located at the foot of the church and set a few meters apart from the main building. The three-sectioned tower combines a square base with octagonal upper sections and is crowned by a characteristic spire.
