As the gateway to the Hoces del Río Duratón Natural Park, Sepúlveda offers visitors that contact with nature and the colors we all seek at this time of year. Walking the different trails, watching the griffon vulture, and admiring the gorges from beautiful spots such as the Virgen de la Peña viewpoint, the Lope Tablada viewpoint, or the Puerta de la Fuerza is a privilege that this town offers. One of the most unique trails in Sepúlveda and the natural park is the so-called “senda de los dos ríos”, a 5 km circular path where nature, history, and art allow the traveler to live a unique experience.
From a monumental point of view, tourists who choose Sepúlveda during these autumn days will be able to admire its numerous and unique narrow streets, enjoy the surprising panoramic views offered by the different viewpoints, discover the natural and built wall while walking through the seven gates, as well as visit the Romanesque buildings and museums that the town boasts.
And when it comes time to sit at the table, we must highlight the star dish of Sepúlveda's gastronomy, the Lechazo Asado (roast suckling lamb) in a wood-fired oven, among other delicious delicacies offered by the town's restaurants and bars to cater to different tastes, always without forgetting to leave room for the irresistible local pastries.
Autumn opens its doors with the long-awaited El Pilar long weekend, and choosing Sepúlveda as a destination means being able to choose from a wide variety of possibilities and experiences and, above all, it is discovering a place where everyone can write their own story.
